Lots of small business owners aren't clear on whether or not they should be using hosting that is shared. There are a lot of benefits to having a dedicated server but these benefits come with a high price. Knowing when you need to employ a dedicated server and when a shared server will undoubtedly be acceptable is essential to be able to ensure that you obtain the right type of hosting for your site.

The most common reason that businesses have a dedicated server is that they have a sizable site and so they need the disk space. In fact this applies to big companies more than to small companies, there are very little small companies that have a sites that require anywhere near enough disk space to need a dedicated server. However if you are managing a business which makes the majority of its sales small business bankingit may be necessary.

The other common reason that big companies have their very own server is that they need the bandwidth to deal with all of the traffic that they are getting. Again that is rarely a problem with small businesses. You may however want to think about the growth prospects of your small business insurance and your internet site. If you were to think you will obtain a lot more traffic to your site in the not too distant future you might want to go with a dedicated server just to save you the trouble of having to go your site latter.
