Are you currently a techie? Love gadgets? Computer expert? Like hacking and tweaking software and hardware? You're geek. Contrary to popular belief, you're that just about me. Okay now, let's not fight in the concept of a geek.
Here's a list of software (all free) for geeks, as outlined by me. You can download programas gratis each by clicking its name:
Firefox/Chrome: The high dogs inside the internet browser world are not only seen suited to everyone, but additionally they may be a geek's playground. If you utilize Ie and you consider yourself tech-savvy, you better think again, then you better think again, and think until you have got one of these brilliant browsers installed.
Notepad++: It's another must have tool to get a geek. The Notepad included in Windows is fine. It is rather simple, full-featured for web page design and contains everything a standard person needs. But you're a geek. You should have Notepad++. It has color coding assistance when you are web designing, it's more features and whatever you decide and can imagine. Oh yes, and open-source.
Dropbox: Wow, the right file synchronizing tool. It is the ultimate choice (specifically for geeks, again) for sync and backup. It isn't completely free, but there are hardly any limitations. The free account turns into a decent 2 GB of online storage, that you can expand having a fee, on the other hand never felt a need for it. You can also get an extra 250 MB for completing the tutorial, plus more free space with all the instructions here. Dropbox is magical. You can upload any sort of file, no matter what size (unless it exceeds the size and style on your own account), as well as coming from all, it behaves as with any other folder on your computers, with all the added functionality on constantly synchronizing.
7-Zip: WinZip is indeed traditional. It even isn't free. 7-Zip is no, light, and open-source, so that it is free. Windows includes a fine file extractor. However it cannot extract the newer, better compressed file types. 7-Zip expands the capability by integrating with your OS also it can extract almost all forms of compressed files. Oahu is the ultimate compression utility.
Torrent: Hey, think about it, torrents aren't illegal. Everything is dependent upon that which you are downloading. Torrents can be quite helpful for downloading large software libre, and if you're a geek, you have to know torrents. Torrent is the greatest torrent app on the market. You must have it. You might need it when downloading large open-source stuff, like OpenOffice, or large versions of Linux (see, I mention only free software here).
TeamViewer: Just how can a geek do without this? TeamViewer, in case you have never been aware of it, is often a remote access and remote support software. Quite a few to thrill friends, and/or enable them to when they are having problems and wish some of your geeky expertise. It's free for commercial use, where there aren't limitations. When you have TeamViewer, you can easily tell the individual on the reverse side to download a lesser version (or even the full featured one) and are able to use their automatically generated user ID and password to log in for their computer and discover the situation. I, personally, haven't ever put on the extender for remote access to my computer.
GIMP: The free open-source GNU Image Manipulating Program. This is arguably the most effective free photo editing tool and is (more) arguably a great Photoshop alternative. Okay, Photoshop fans descargar programas gratis, don't clobber me with the. The only catch is (no, it's free, and full-featured) it possesses a slight learning curve. You will probably find Paint.NET better if you aren't so much into photo editing (which I use most of times).
CCleaner: The geek's choice in computer clean-up utilities. It might tidy up all of the gunk Disk Cleanup cleans, plus high of the stuff other apps forget. This may also clean the registry and work from a flash drive without the problems, to be used on others' computers.
So, they were the basic freeware a geek must have in his/her arsenal for everyday computing. Did I miss something important? Throw it to the comments, and that i may add it in to the list.
