hen my brother was in junior high school and started shaving, he said that shaving caused hair to grow thicker. Therefore he was going to shave around his face so that he'd look like a werewolf and maybe like a lucrative career as a circus freak.

My brother is really a moron, but I'd also heard from other people a similar thing - that shaving makes your fast hair growth. Not only that, but I'd actually seen it happen when I started shaving my legs! Yikes!

Nevertheless, you that shaving doesn't make your hair grow back thicker. Shaving does not have any effect whatsoever on the thickness, growth patterns, or color of your hair. The how to make your hair grow faster follicles are too deep as part of your skin for what happens at the surface to have an effect. It's merely another urban legend.

Consider about this - if it were true, balding men wouldn't need Rogaine. They might just shave the part that was thinning and a thick, full head of hair growth right back. And people who shaved their heads would wind up growing huge, frizzy afro's within their later years. Simply not true.
